My original question:

> Does anyone know what patches are applicable to SunOS 4.1.1 release B?
> I am experiencing some serious lockd problems with a SS2 in a NIS
> environment and am wondering if the patch list for 4.1.1 is part of
> release B (whatever that is) or if I need to apply them.

I have received so many responses and questions (20) about this topic
that I am compelled to write a second summary and include what I found
out as I actually applied the patches.

The first part is without question - all patches for 4.1.1 need to be
applied to 4.1.1b.

The second part is what patches are to be applied? In my first
summary, I wrote that the patch #100075 was needed to fix lockd
problems. This is a 4.1 patch that is superceeded by 4.1.1. Since I
did not have an official list to work with, I scrounged around and
found references to patch collections available via anonymous ftp.
The best collection I ran across was at princeton.edu (pathname
pub/sun-fixes/sunos4.1.1). I retreived these files and fixed my lockd
problem with patch # 100173-01. I have now been running with the new
kernels since Monday morning and so far, everything appears to be
stable.

My apologies to princeton for sending the world to their doorstep.
There may be better archives around for the patch sets, this is just
the one that got me what I needed.....

Thanks again to all who responded - this list is a real lifesaver :-)
