SUMMARY: rpc.lockd problem

My problem was:

I have recently attached a SCSI disk to our 3/470 (running 4.1.1), and
am getting lots of these errors:

        fcntl: Too many open files.
        rpc.lockd: unable to do cnvt.

The disk is exported to several other machines and via CAP to AppleTalk,
so has potentially up to 50 users accessing it at once.

Is there a patch for this problem?

Yes, there IS a patch.

The patch # is 100075-06, for SunOS 4.1.1, 4.1 and 4.0.3 (although we
ran the same set up under 4.0.3 with no problems) and all architectures.

I have put the patch up, and it has solved the problem.

Thanks to those who replied - much appreciated.

Colin
