My original query:

> Has anyone else seen the following type of messages reported from ps:

> % ps aux
> USER PID %CPU %MEM SZ RSS TT STAT START TIME COMMAND
> root 98 16.6 1.2 96 368 ? S 17:47 0:02 (inetd)

> bin 47 0.0 0.0 72 0 ? IW 17:46 0:00 (ypbind)
> sport 205 0.0 0.8 272 240 co S 13:07 0:05 (xbiff++)
> sport 206 0.0 4.9 392 1440 co S 13:07 0:01 (contool)
> root 59 0.0 0.0 32 0 ? S 17:46 0:00 (biod)
> root 49 0.0 0.0 80 0 ? IW 17:46 0:00 / u s r / l o c a l

The problem was an incorrect entry in my fstab. I should have mounted
the Sun4c version of /usr/kvm (ie /export/exec/kvm/sun4c) instead I was
using the server's Sun4 version. A quick test to confirm this was running
arch -k, which should have reported sun4c instead of sun4.
