Summary: lpd

The bottom line is that it doesn't seem to be necessary to restart lpd after
updating /etc/printcap as the lpd's that get spawned for individual print
jobs read the current printcap themselves. Thus, all I really need to do is
rdist the printcap file which seems to work just fine.

It was also suggested that I could run

   lpc abort all
   lpc restart all

or several variants on this theme. However, this is not necessary for my
needs ( I have no problem with letting the current job finish before the
limits are invoked/revoked).

Thanks to...(Hope I didn't leave anyone out!).
