Recently, I posted a problem with my sparc1 not being able to
boot from my 370. The sparc had crashed under X and during
reboot it would hang looking for the server. Many people
suggested solutions (thanks!) The problem was that someone had
created a /etc/defaultdomain file which then prompted the
/etc/rc.local boot script to initiate YP which the server
doesn't run. so the sparc1 was waiting for yellowpages and
the server didn't have it

the real problem was that the error messages from the suns
were about as easy to decipher as colloquial sanskrit.

thanks again to all the people who responded!
