NeWSprint driver for the HP Deskjet 500 Color.
There wasn't.

I tried to write one for the Deskjet 500 C, but I don't want the NeWSprint
fattening algorithm it uses e.g. for the mono Deskjet because of resolution
loss. I can't invest very much time for this challenge, but for those who
have this printer :
I wrote a Sun-Rasterfile-2-HP500C printer filter using the dithering algorithm
of Jim Frosts xli package. You can get the sources via anonymous ftp from
cfgauss.uni-math.gwdg.de:/graph/hpras-if.c at my former employer. Perhaps it
helps a bit.
