 Dear Sun experts,

at our site we plan to install in the various buildings several
 Ethernet LAN's.
For each local Ethernet we want introduce the subnetting scheme.
Since we are using also some Token rings in the company we plan
 to establish the following topologie:

 Token ring Token ring
CISCO Router AGS+ FDDI CISCO Router AGS+
 Ethernet Ethernet

 Building A Building B

 Now our problem, question:

In building A there is a SPARC server as the BOOT server for a diskless
 client in building B.
Is there any chance that the client can boot from its server??

I heard from a co-worker that there is a solution, unfortunately he has
forgotten the details (he told me something about manipulation of the
client's NVRAM to ensure that the broadcasts are handled in a different
 way???).

There were many hints, comments on this topic:

Patrick Shopbell pointed out that a summary was posted to sun-managers a
while back (of course he sent me this article).

Tom Crummey referenced this same article.

The best solution for our site came from:

Jim Hendrickson and Brian Parent
They mentioned the "IP helper address" feature of the CISCO AGS+ router
used to forward broadcasts to a specific IP address.
THAT'S IT!!!

Many thanks and best regards
