Hi sun-managers:

Here's my original question:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a diskless Sun SparcStation 1 SunOS 4.0.3c. The problem is that
when I run the ps command I get no answer.

Any help would be appretiated.

Thanks in advance ,
Mayra

Here were the responses:

1- The /usr/kvm tree is of the wrong OS release. ps is one of those commands
that is architecture depentdent. So if the Sparc client, which has a sun4c
architecture tries to run ps compiled for sun4 architecture it will not work
properly. Check the client's /etc/fstab to make sure it is mounting sun4c
binaries from the server's /export/exec/kvm/sun4c directory to /usr/kvm on
the client. (That was my problem)

2- The Kernel's name isn't /vmunix. ps recovers its information from a table
maintained by the kernel and by default it expects the kernel to be called
/vmunix.

Many thanks to all who responded, really I love this list

Mayra
