SUMMARY: unexplained loss of access to xnews display

From: Mike_Strawbridge_x3852 (straw@cam.nist.gov)
Date: Thu Feb 17 1994 - 08:28:51 CST

The problem was caused by a cron process that deleted everything in /tmp
that was not accessed for three days ... including the UNIX sockets in
/tmp/.NeWs-unix and /tmp/.X11-unix needed for X to communicate with the
server for :0.
