SUMMARY: /etc/system

My original posting:

I was told that there existed a command that would make
rebooting unnecessary after new entries were added to
/etc/system on a Solaris 2.3 machine. Would anybody know
 what it was?

Many thanks to

 casper@fwi.uva.nl
 x092306@hyperion.LANL.GOV (Jerry Weber CIC-2)
 sfeng@ced.berkeley.edu

who confirmed that there was no such command and that a
procedure was described in the FAQ to add device drivers
after devices were added and then "boot -r" was not used
to boot.
