My original posting on 22 Dec 1994:

On my Solaris 1.1.2 Sparc 10, starting openwin fails with

        ld.so: Undefined symbol: _rl_null

no matter what LD_LIBRARY_PATH is set to. Please help.

Thanks to lbd@mhcnet.att.com (Leslie_B_DreyerKalra) who pointed out "the
problem is that you don't have the SunView_Users package installed."
"Basically, it's looking for libsunwindow.so.0, which is included in the
package." "If you don't want to add the SunView stuff, just run
openwin -nosunview."

My thanks also go to roy@read-well.no (Roy Ramberg) who suggested "AFTER
you have set LD_LIBRARY_PATH, you should maybe try to run /usr/etc/ldconfig
which will create the file /etc/ld.so.cache."

I installed Solaris 1.1.2 on another machine with SunView and all is fine.
