>Which banks do I need to use? ...and are which slots are in which banks? You need to use bank 1 and bank 2. Hopefully you can make out the slot numbers, if not let me know and I'll send an acii drawing. They are as follows: Bank1 U0700, U0701, U0702 and U0703 8 meg configuration.

Bank2 U0803, U0803, U0805 and U0806 12 meg cofiguration. Then the U0900 slots make up the rest of the 16 meg config. Hope this helps. Richard France pan@xnet.com

In comp.sys.sun.hardware you write:

I had to deal with this not to long ago. From what I was able to gather, the banks were set up as follows:

Front of machine 3333333333333333 222222222222222 1111111111111111 000000000000000 3333333333333333 222222222222222 1111111111111111 000000000000000 3333333333333333 222222222222222 1111111111111111 000000000000000 3333333333333333 222222222222222 1111111111111111 000000000000000 Back of machine

I know this pattern works for an 8mb configuration. -- Trip Martin night@acm.rpi.edu

One approach would be to take one of the SIMMs out of the 3/60 to use in the 3/80. Only possible problem would be speed -- the 3/80 might need faster than the 3/60. (3/60 needs 100ns, I don't know about the 3/80.)
