Thank for the following person:

An NFS server is simply a name for a machine that is exporting
one or more filesystems to other machines.

If an entry exists in its /etc/dfs/dfstab file that describes
a local file system and what other machines can mount it,
then it can be considered an NFS server ("share .......").

Once that is set up, the "shareall" command is run to get things
going.

 NFS is Network File System. Solaris 1 and 2 both are configured to
be servers if you export any directories. Look in Solaris System
Administrators Guide; a book you really do need to buy.

It probably is already an NFS server!

NFS stands for NEtwork File system, which is a standard first developed by Sun.
It enables other computers to mount and use another computers disks just
like its own, via RPCs (remote procedure calls).

I suggest that you get the two OReilly books:

Managing NFS and NIS by Hal Stern

and

Essential Systems Administration by Aeleen Frisch

Or you could try reading the Sun suplied manuals!
