If you are seeing startup messages OK, but get no login prompt,
you just have to change /etc/inittab. This is the line that gets
you the login on the grahic screen/keyboard:

co:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` console login: " -T AT386 -d /dev/console -l console

Change /dev/console to /dev/term/a or whatever. You'll also have to
change /dev/console in /etc/default/{login,su}. That's all I
can think of right now.
