SUMMARY: broadcast addresses in sunos 4.x

The answer seems to be that there isn't an easy way to change from a
0s broadcast to a 1s (I was secretly hoping that someone had a version
of ifconfig that did this). I also spoke to Sun who said the same
thing.

Two approaches that look plausible, in terms of work, are: use some
little script to derive the broadcast address from IP address, and use
its output in the ifconfig cmd line; or define broadcast addresses in the
hosts file, and use them in the ifconfig command. I'll use the latter
for now, as it requires slightly less thought.
