Teknekron's (the company has since renamed itself to Tibco) Tekmon monitoring
product runs just fine under Solaris 2.4, assuming that you have the Solaris
version of TIB running.
As for docs...I haven't a clue, but it's fairly easy to figure out.

Hi Tom,
One of our projects here is using Teknekron
on Solaris, and yes, there is a Solaris version.
I'm pretty sure it's not free, though!

don't know if you've had any responses yet, but yes I've heard and even worked
with the product. It's pretty decent but at the time when I looked at it was
geared for implementation to their TIB (Teknekron Info Bus). It was written
by one of their (then) consultants as a side project that turned into
a very good monitoring tool. You can probably get additional info at their web
site. I would doubt it's free.
