My original question:

Responses:

A number of folks suggested good old "dd" or "tcopy" on a host with two
tape devices.

The remainder pointed me to a device by Andataco, the ENC-8002S, which
looks like it will fit the bill, as it can perform duplication even when
not connected to a host at all. For more info, see www.andataco.com.

Thanks!
