Thanks to all the replies.
Actually I fotgot to mentioned that I just want to set up DNS client on my
nmachine.
There are several solution depends whether you are running the NIS or not.
Non-NIS setup
-------------
1) You have to recompile the libresolv.a , libc.sa and libc.so to make the
DNS work. In order to do that, you have to download the resolv+. I found
it at the place http://netweb.usc.edu/other/
I have tried this and it works on my machine.
NIS setup
---------
1) Modify the Makefile lives in /var/yp/Makefile to build the maps. ( This
changes should made on the master NIS server but not the slave )
You need to uncomment the lines :
#B=-b
B=
To change them to
B=-b
#B=
2) Rebuild the hosts map
cd /var/yp
make hosts.time
This will insert a "magic cookie" into th ehosts map that instruct the NIS
to query DNS if it can't find a host in the NIS hosts map.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
