Thanks to the following:

Casper Dik <casper@holland.Sun.COM>

All of you mentioned that I had the wrong order in my vfstab. (I know some
days I wonder why I get outta bed!! :) ). So with that said I cleaned up the
mount order so that /var/spool/news mounted first. Then I mounted the
/var/spool/news partition & made the directories of the other partitions & then
I did a mountall. It said I exceeded the mount points.

So I re-partioned the disk with a couple of fewer partitions (2 fewer). I then
cleaned up my vfstab file. I mounted /var/spool/news by hand re-made the mnt
pts for the other partitions & did a mountall & everything mounted!!!

Here's how I partitioned for the news (which I'm not sure will work for our
site -- If I change the partitioning I'll re-summarize)

        3.7 GB /var/spool/news
        2.5 GB /var/spool/news/alt
        1.1 GB /var/spool/news/rec
        1.1 GB /var/spool/news/misc
        1 GB /var/spool/news/overview

We won't be getting alt.binaries nor alt.sex groups. We may drop the talk &
soc groups if the news partition can't handle it...

YES one can -- without any other additional software partition a partition
bigger than 2 GB on solaris 2.5!!!! (I had previously received posts that I
couldn't do this without OnLine DiskSuite).

Thanks again for the quick replies!!!
