Hi, managers,

My question was:

>I automounted /var/mail from server:/var/mail via NIS auto.direct map,
>the problem is the server also automount /var/mail onto itself. When I
>"ls /var/mail", I got ".: No such file or directory". I have checked the
> archive of the SUMMARIES, someone suggested adding -null option in the
> auto.direct map. I did it, but nothing changed.

>From those answering mails, I found 3 solutions:

1. Mosts people suggested:
On the mail server, put the mail disk as /somewhere/else/mail and then
have all the machines including the server mount /var/mail from
server:/somewhere/else/mail

2. Using local automount files instead of NIS map on mail server, in which
/var/mail is commented out.

3. Using -null option in local auto_master( or auto_direct) file. But I
still have trouble when trying it. Any suggestion is still welcomed.
