What worked for me was from Robert Richardson who sent:
1./usr/lib/lp/postscript/postprint -pland file_name | lp -d printer_name
other otions that I did not try were:
2. postprint -pland <filename> | lp
3. lp -o landscape -d printer file1 file2 file3 4. /usr/openwin/bin/mp -lo

I don't think, this is a job for Your print-system, but for the
programs,
that creates the print-file. If the PS-file contains the
landscape-option
the printer will print landscape.
If Your user try to print an ASCII-File in landscape, then You can use
the a2ps-Filter option -w (wide). If it is allready a PS-File, use
mpage -1l (1 normal page per sheet, landscape mode).
There are other tools for this job too, but we use these two for
filtering.

Question for the group,
I have checked the faq archives for the solution for my problem, and
although there was a couple of messages, neither of them were of help.
My problem. I have a u450 enterprise running solaris 2.6. I have
configured a network printer using lpsystem and lpadmin(note - I do
not have the jet direct software loaded on this server).
The network printer that is being used is for the lan and is a hp5.
The printer is configured for postscript. The user wants to print a
file with the landscape option. I have tried the folllowing with no
success:
lp -d33n11 -0landscape <file>
I have also revied the lp and lpadmin man pages, with no help.
