My original question:
>I've a pool of Sun machines, including SunOS 4.1.3, Solaris 2.5, Solaris
>2.5.1, Solaris 2.6.
>An NIS server is running on machine Solaris 2.5.1.
>I've tried to install a slave NIS on Solaris 2.6, i did it according the
>sun documentation.
>Well, no error messages appeared, but when client machines bind to my
>slave NIS, they can't access Internet. So, i immediately suppress NIS
>slave server on my network. This procedure is described by Sun in an
>infodoc, and it seems to work.
>
>But when i reboot my Solaris 2.6 machine, ypserv is already started
>despite the changes i've done.
>Is anybody know how not to start "ypserv"

Answer:
Try (re)moving the /var/yp directory, then on boot it shouldn't start
ypserv.

PS: In my original question, i didn't tell but NIS clients access
Internet before installation of slave NIS server.

Thanks,
Gerard
