SUMMARY: flaky term defs in vi under sol 7 w/ cde

        <DJEVANS@au.oracle.com> suggested setting TERM to xterm
instead of dtterm, and <misha@cibc.com> suggested unsetting
LD_LIBRARY_PATH; neither of these, however, have helped, and the
problem continues. any other suggestions?
