Thanks to Jeff Hodge for reminding me that I had not yet summarized this.
:-\

Original question:

> One of the programmers here has asked me about any utilities that can
> monitor
> threads on an application they are developing. Any pointers to good
> utilities
> that can accomplish this? Development is under Solaris 2.5.1/2.6.

Responses:

u-kevin@megami.veritas.com and Umesh C Singhal both pointed at truss with -l
and -f
options. u-kevin also mentioned pstack and gdb.

dana@dtn.com indicated that the Sun Workshop has some utilities that might
be useful,
although I have not yet looked at them, so I can't summarize those.

ian@masuma.com suggested looking at man libpthread_db.

I already knew about truss, and I believe this is what this programmer ended
up using...
or at least he has not come back to me with any more info. :-)

Thanks, all.
