Sun Managers,

First, I received many responses to my question regarding Solstice
FireWall-1, 33 to be exact. Thank you to all who took the time to tell me
what I should have already known. Solstice FireWall-1 is simply Checkpoint
re-packaged by Sun. The majority of the responses suggested staying with
the Checkpoint product. I was hoping for more responses from people with
first hand experience with Sunscreen but only received two and the review
was not good. Anyone else in the group willing to comment on their
experiences with the Sunscreen product would be appreciated however, I will
not burden the group with any further postings on this subject. Once again,
thanks to all who replied and ...

Best Regards,

Stephen Johnston

Subject: Solstice FireWall-1 End of Life

Good afternoon everyone,

I received a letter from Sun yesterday informing me that they are declaring
Solstice FireWall-1 at end-of-life and will not be supporting it anymore
after the first of the year. We are, of course, currently running this
package and have the option to chose between two packages Sun is offering us
for a replacement or go with something else. They are offering either
SunScreen Secure Net 3.0 (available in May) or Check Point FireWall.
I am not familiar with the features/benefits/gotchas of either of these
products and was hoping someone might be able to give me some insight or
recommend another product. TIA and I will summarize.

Best Regards,

Stephen Johnston
