Sun Managers:

I received a very good response to my question.

Original Question.
We have a Sun Ultra Enterprise 2 running Solaris 2.6 with all current patches. There are cron jobs that send large files to various recipients via sendmail. The mail hub for some recipients was down for several weeks and the files were queued. The mail hub is now repaired and the queued files are no longer needed. Also, we do not want to send them. Does anyone know how to purge the mail queue without actually sending the files?

Solution.
Simply delete messages in the queue; e.g. rm /var/spool/mqueue/*
