Check your OBP variable:
local-mac-address
If it is set to true, every NIC will use its own Mac (ethernet) address
("normal" behavior)
If it is set to false, every NIC will use the Mac (ethernet) address of
hme0 (the Sun default).
Old-time Sun people can tell you exactly why this is, but the
reason flees me at the moment.
