[SUMMARY] problem reading core files

Hi,

The fix to my problem was simply moving the pre-patch versions of the
/usr/lib/libthread.so.1 and
/usr/lib/libthread_db.so.1
files into place on the afflicted machine.

After that I was able to use sun's workshop and dbx to look at the core files.

Hi,

I checked the archives on this to no avail.

It concerns core files.

I patched up my solaris 2.5.1 with the appropriate y2k cluster.

After doing this, I cannot read core files from other, non-y2k-patched,
2.5.1 systems of the same architecture. I could do this before of course.

The easy/common sense answer is to simply bring the non-y2k-patched 2.5.1
systems up to date with the y2k patch cluster. Then we will all be on the
same sheet of music.

Unfortunately, politics precludes me from doing this just yet.

I was hoping that maybe there was a singular patch I could undo in the
interim period that would allow me to read core files.

I suspect it may be involve libc_psr.so but am not sure.

Any ideas on this would be great.

thanks,

Rich
