[summary] cannot use SCSI ID > 7 for Wide Differential disks on Sparc2

I asked the list a question that I use Wide Differential disks and
Wide Differential controller, yet I can not use SCSI IDs over 7.

Kulp, Scott provided an answer which I think is correct.
501-1902 does not support address over 7, 370-1703 and 370-1704 do.
My adaptor is 501-1902.

I also checked the SCSI FAQ:
http://fieldnet.ne.mediaone.net/gary/scsifaq.html
which says that "WIDE SCSI devices on a SCSI-3 system with 68
pin P cable can use IDs 0 through 15". So I think 501-1902
is not SCSI-3 compliant.

Many people said that I need to edit /kernel/drv/sd.conf, which I don't
that is correct. Because (1) I can not see the disk with SCSI ID > 7 when
I use probe-scsi-all as stated in the problem, and probe-scsi-all has
nothing to do with sd.conf. (2) sd.conf by default does support SCSI IDs
0-15, it needs edited if you use higher lun numbers.

I would like to thank the following nice folks for their time and
effort. The full question and answer are attached at the end.
