I have received several replies and most recommend to remove /etc/path_to_inst
and do "boot -a".

The original post:

Sometimes when clone a node, the device instance numbers will be
changed after boot with -r option. For instance, ethernet interface
on original node is hme0, but on the cloned node will become hme1
instead of hme0. The identification of disks sometimes also changed.

Does anybody know how to make all the device instances the same on
both original and cloned nodes?
Is there anyway I can modify /etc/path_to_inst file?
