SUMMARY: mkdir too many links

Thanks to everyone who responded. The answer seems to be that there is
no clean way to do this, it may break too many things. One can edit
MAXLINK in param.h.

The other suggestions were to use a hash spool, which we are doing anyway.
We just have to come up with a better hashing schema.

My original question was:

On our Ultra 10 /2.6 machine running Vxfs 3.0.2,
we are running into the 32767 directory limit (ie, a parent
directory has 32767 subdirectories under it). mkdir fails with "too many
links".

Is there a fix for this, such as a /etc/system parameter?
