I would like to thank all of you who answered my messy and uncompleted mail anyway!

The original qustion:
"I need to copy UFS file systems from a server over to another one with VXFileSystem."

Here is some suggestions.

G. VAIBHAV, T. Knox, Jay Lessert, : "We have tried doing UFSDUMP/UFSRESTORE from UFS file system to VXFS file system , and worked fine."

T. Evans, S. Reggie, Gary Jarrell, K. Vogel, B. R. Zimmer: " cd top/of/old/filesystem
find . -depth -print | cpio -pdv /new/file/system"

A. Darran Dunham: "You could consider 'star'. It's a free program that tries to handle all
the limitations of 'tar'"

T. Lindgren: "You'd be better off doing a ufsrestore or even a find piped to cpio ( which is
what I do all the time)."

T. Golali,I myself :-) : I dumped the file system with ufsdump and restored it with 'vxrestore' and it worked!!!! It's true, VXFS has two commands, (vxdump and vxrestore) with the same properties as ufsdump and ufsrestore.
All these 4 commands are totally compatible with each other!!

Thanks again.

Tarane
