The general consensus was that there is no "yp" script, the "rpc" script
should do it, but one can always call the individual script manually, and they
are /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstart and /usr/lib/netsvc/yp/ypstop

As additional comments it was noted :

Make sure have these two Solaris 7 packages installed :
   system SUNWypr NIS Server for Solaris (root)
   system SUNWypu NIS Server for Solaris (usr)

Get the NIS documentation for 2.7 from docs.sun.com, you'll need
this since NIS changed a lot between 2.5.1 and 2.7!
