The values-Xa.o file is from the SUNWarc package according to Miachel Hill.

According to Casper Dik, I think I need to install additional packages in order
to support a C compiler:

for tools (sccs, lex, yacc, make, nm, truss, ld, as):
         SUNWbtool, SUNWsprot, SUNWtoo
     for libraries & headers:
         SUNWhea, SUNWarc, SUNWlibm, SUNWlibms
         SUNWdfbh, SUNWcg6h, SUNWxwinc, SUNWolinc,
         SUNWxglh
     for 64 bit development:
         SUNWarcx, SUNWbtoox, SUNWdplx, SUNWscpux, SUNWsprox,
         SUNWtoox, SUNWlmsx, SUNWlmx, SUNWlibCx
     for ucb compat:
         SUNWsra, SUNWsrh

These packages are all on the Solaris 2.x CDs, except that some
packages may only exist in some releases and not in others.
Some packages may be on separate CDs, such as the "Desktop/CDE"
CD, but all are part of the Solaris "bundle".

I have checked other server that I have and these pakcages were installed but on
questioned server, I did miss those packages.

I will get them installed and test out further.

Thanks you very much for all the help,

Zion

Original Question:

To All Helpers:

Platform:
Solaris 2.6
Apache 1.3.14
gcc: 2.95.2

I tried to run configure to configure the apche with ./configure
--prefix=/usr/local/apache --enable-module=so

The /usr/loca/apache is the existing running apache program directory.

I got the following error.

cd ..; gcc -DSOLARIS2=260 -DUSE_EXPAT -I./lib/expat-lite `./apaci` -o helpe
rs/dummy helpers/dummy.c -lsocket -lnsl
ld: fatal: file values-Xa.o: cannot open file: No such file or directory
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to helpers/dummy
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `dummy'

What went wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Zion
