and many suggestions to come.

Summary:
1) Zone info of solaris 7 and solaris 8 have changed.
  Edit "/usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/src/asia":

# Zone NAME GMTOFF RULES FORMAT [UNTIL]
Zone Asia/Hong_Kong 7:36:36 - LMT 1904 Oct 30
                       8:00 HK HK%sT 1997 Jul 1 # return to
China
                         8:00 PRC C%sT

Change to:

# Zone NAME GMTOFF RULES FORMAT [UNTIL]
Zone Asia/Hong_Kong 7:36:36 - LMT 1904 Oct 30
                         8:00 HK HK%sT

2) Edit: /etc/default/init
  Change to "TZ=Asia/Hong_Kong"

3) zic /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/src/asia and reboot.

Original Problem:

> Dear All,

> COuld you please show me how to change the timezone displayed from "CST"
> to "HKT"?
> When I upgraded from Solaris 7 to Solaris 8 on our Ultra 5, I have
> selected the LOCALE to be Eastern Asia -> Hong Kong. However the time
> zone displayed was CST. The time displayed was correct.
