Thanks to Casper Dik for his speedy and accurate diagnosis.

The problem was a missing package SUNWscpux (64 bit ucb utilities.)

Greetings all,

I have an Ultra80 (SunOS sof00505 5.8 Generic_108528-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-80) which is exhibiting some peculiar behavior. When I try to grep out of a /usr/ucb/ps command, I get the following error:

/usr/ucb/ps -auxww | grep -i load
ps: read() on /proc/417/as: Value too large for defined data type
ps: read() on /proc/20010/as: Value too large for defined data type
ps: read() on /proc/19959/as: Value too large for defined data type
bwmyynf 15548 0.0 0.1 984 696 pts/4 S 09:11:54 0:00 grep -i load

Anyone see this before or have any ideas?
Thanks.

Kevin
