'format' command ,one of the buddies sugested a tool from
http://www.magnicomp.com/sysinfo its a GUI based tool quite good in use
but the best reply is from Mr Santos Ramiro

his reply was as follows
Hi
u can use

prtvtoc
prtconf
df
format (be carefull)
cfgadm
sysdef

Workarounds:
cfgadm -a
(pick what cfgadm relates as a disk)
cd /dev/rdsk
ls -l
pick the names
prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0
	Dimensions:
		512 bytes/sector
		63 sectors/track
		16 tracks/cylinder
		1008 sectors/cylinder
		17662 cylinders
		17660 accessible cylinders

i have used 'format' command before for this prupose but cfgadm -a works for
