It appears that cfgadm runs at boot time and checks that all the hardware is
plumbed in and working correctly.  It is also more than a bit flaky which
meant that it had not closed itself down properly.  It is recommended that
patch 110842-08 should be installed.  It is also recommended that the picld
is also patched up fully.  I have done these and will be in a position to
reboot in a week or so, and will see how things go then.
