In /etc/inetd.conf you need

# smserverd to support removable media devices
100155/1 tli rpc/ticotsord wait root
/usr/lib/smedia/rpc.smserverd rpc.smserverd

Solaris 9 vold talks to rpc.smserverd which is started via inetd. Make
sure you don't have that commented out in /etc/inetd.conf.

Subject: cdrom not mounting Sol 9

Hi

I have a fresh install of Solaris 9 on a blade. And I notice that when I
place a cd in the cdrom it does not mount it? vold is running.

Is there something thats different on Sol 9? The system sees the cdrom
because I can mount the cdrom with the mount command... Any help would be
great...

Thanks
Ron
