Original question:

How do I find how many HBAs are in use & what type, brand & models.

Summary :

HBA info can be gathered using following:

/usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v
sysdef
prtconf
dmesg
/var/adm/messages

NB:
fcaw, fca, jni, fce, etc are strings pointing a JNI cards.

================================================
eg:
/usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v| grep -i fibre
00-PCI#2 fibre-channel
PCIBUS#B(33Mhz)
00-PCI#1 fibre-channel
PCIBUS#A(33Mhz)

then check your messages files for an entry like
      fibre-channel@2
while it was booting.
