Hello,

Managed to fix it : after booting up from CDROM, found that
the kernel directory was relocated to /export/kernel so I did
a "cp -rp /mnt/export/kernel /mnt/kernel" & that fixed it

Hello,

We have 2 SunBlades (A & B) with identical hardware spec running Solaris 8 :

After doing on SunBlade A "pkgadd -d RTRmlip.1.0.0.L7.sol8.sparc.pkg /reuters",
we did a reboot but the box can't boot up anymore & the errors during bootup are :

boot: cannot find misc/sparv9/krtld
boot: error loading interpreter (misc/sparcv9/krtld)
      E1f64 read error
boot failed
Enter filename (/platform/sun4u/kernel/sparcv9/unix) :

How can I recover or undo the above changes? Can I

a)boot up from CDROM, copy over the kernel file from SunBlade B or
b)boot up from CDROM, rename a specific startup script that's causing
this boot problem - I don't know the startup script(s) that's introduced or
c)transfer this corrupt hard disk over to SunBlade B, do a "dd ..." to clone
over a new disk (but of course the hostname, IP addrs will need to be
    changed)
d)any other better suggestions ??

Thanks very much,
Goh
