Sorry for late SUMMARY Thanks for everyone for their response and suggestions. Answer: The only way to do is to increase the partition size of /var file system. My original question was: Hi Gurus, I tried to upgrade VCS from version 2.0 to 4.1 on Solaris 8. It didn't do upgrade and complained about insufficient Space in /var file system. I have currently 195 MB available in /var. As per the VCS manual it requires 550 MB in /opt which I have but it checks for /var and fails.
