SUMMARY: Connection Ultrium 2 LTO to V880

I had a lot of responses, and most of them were probably correct,
mentioning the OBP level, drivers, etc.

The main issue was HVD/LVD (as Rob specifies below), that the LTO we
have has an HVD interface, which means the support engineers were either
wrong, and the new drive on order will not work, or the drive on order
is different, and has an LVD interface

Dirk,

The L20 has a hvd scsi interface.
You're sure your ultrium drive has hvd interface and not lvd?
Good luck!

Rob

[ORIGINAL POST]

I am battling to connect a Ultrium 2 (external) drive to one of my
V880's. SUN support confirmed that I have the correct scsi card in the
V880 (and I've used this card on my L20 library successfully before).

I connected the drive to the V880, and tried devfsadm, and also a
reconfiguration reboot, but the server still shows nothing in /dev/rmt.

Any suggestions ?

Dirk

(I am using Solaris SunOS 5.9 Generic_117171-02)
