Thanks to all those who replied..

You can'[t] have a hot spare with concatenation/stripe since the there is no 
way to recover the data from a dying disk..

And yes in case of mirror RAID1 and raid 5 you have backup of same data and 
you get the chance to recover the data from dying disk...

So you can use hot spare with raid1 and raid5 not with raid0 ..simple ;)
