We've setup our environment exactly as you describe.....no issues so far

for us....the only difference was we upgraded our boot servers to Sparc
solaris 10.....

I am doing this now. In fact, I jumpstart Solaris 8-SPARC, Solaris
10-SPARC/x86 from the same SPARC jumpstart server.

I am using DHCP jumpstart for SPARC clients also. The clients use the
same DHCP server even. The bootparams and DHCP methods do not really
conflict with each other.
