swap size limit

Hi Gurus.
Today I installed 4500 with 2.6 latest patches
applied.
Now kernel at *181-26 level. The system has 12Gb of
swap But df shows 7.83Gb tmp  and same is with swap -l
or swap -s. Is there a patch problem Or I am missing
something?
