Problem mounting cdrom on Solaris 8

I am unable to mount the cdrom. I have had to open it with a paperclip.
Once
I put the cd in the drive and closed it I don't automatically see
it when I
try to mount it I get mount point cannot be determined. Any
help would be
greatly appreciated
