Hi,
my original question was:
does anyone have a format.dat entry for a Seagate ST43400N?
There war a typo in the question it should be the same disk as in the subject. Sorry.
Some mails came about my signature. I apologise. I will use a shorter one in future.
Most mails included a format.dat entry for both disks.
ST42400N:
disk_type = "Seagate ST42400N" \
: ctlr = SCSI : fmt_time = 4 \
: trks_zone = 19 : asect = 6 : atrks = 19 \
: ncyl = 2622 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 2624 : nhead = 19 : nsect = 83 \
: rpm = 5400 : bpt = 55440
--
disk_type = "Seagate ST42400N - Elite 2" \
: ctlr = SCSI : fmt_time = 4 \
: ncyl = 2733 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 3500 : nhead = 19 : nsect = 80 \
: rpm = 5400 : bpt = 44823
This is the Sun 2.1G format which squeezes more space (for a very
slight performance penalty) out of the drive.
ST43400N:
disk_type = "Arte Seagate ST43400N" \
: ctlr = SCSI : fmt_time = 12 \
: ncyl = 2733 : acyl = 3 : pcyl = 2738 : nhead = 21 : nsect = 99 \
: rpm = 5400 : bpt = 50688
partition = "Arte Seagate ST43400N" \
: disk = "Arte Seagate ST43400N" : ctlr = SCSI \
: a = 0, 45738 : b = 22, 182952 : c = 0, 5681907 : d = 110, 1143450 \
: g = 660, 395010 : h = 850, 3914757
